Why is Jesus important? Conservative believers would most likely say it is because He died for our sins, which began at the time that Eve ate the apple in the garden of Eden.  For myself I do not believe that is a literal story but an allegory. I think people are born with equal capacity for good and evil, thus I place more importance on the life of Jesus than His death because He showed us how to live both in relation to others and to God.
